St. Philip's High School & College

One of the main goal and objectives of Saint Philip’s High School and College are to enlighten the light of education among the children of ethnic people in this region. Among the ethnic children who are studying in this institution are basically santal, oraon, mahali, malpahari and mahato etc.

Our institution has language club, cultural club, debate club, chase club, science club along with different co-curricular activities to practice and improve their knowledge level according to their culture and cast. Through the language club the students always get opportunity to learn English language, Santali language, and oraon language.

Approximately 250 students from primary level to college level are Santali language speakers. There are 11 teachers here who are Santali language speakers too. The teachers and students of Santali language are speaking and practicing here who have come from different Districts like Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, Panchagarh, Rangpur, Nilphamari, Gaibandha, Jaipurhat, Naogaon, Rajshahi, Natore and Chapai nawabgonj etc.

As a part of language club, classes of Santali language are conducted in Roman script.  We hope these ethnic groups children will grow up with their language, culture and tradition establish their position in different level.
